Why is our Gateway 2.0 team the next step for you?
The team builds and supports products and services to support Worldpay’s Online Payments proposition for small and medium sized businesses, as well as its new client facing payment gateway ‘Gateway 2.0’ for global eCommerce players.
Both propositions share a modern API and utilise public cloud hosted infrastructure. The SME focused solution has been built using Java, Scala, Spring & Angular. The infrastructure has been built in AWS with an obsession for security and automation using AWS tooling in addition to Puppet and Ansible. The Gateway 2.0 solution is based on a technology stack including the Akka framework and Cassandra, utilising a hybrid infrastructure strategy of public and private cloud services managed by OpenShift. The Gateway 2.0 team works across Technical Support, Product, QA and Development engineering using a product driven agile methodology.
Within this, our Technical Support discipline provides 2nd and 3rd line support across technical integration, implementation and ongoing support. This involves training 1st line support teams and ensuring they are fully aware of all new features added to the service.
How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?
You’ll provide 2nd line technical support and take ownership of critical technical customer issues, working with the development and Cloud teams to satisfy and resolve issues. We’ll want you to support the client facing implementation and managers with technical needs of their customers, which range from very large global customers to smaller national based corporate customers. You’ll work with key partners to advise them on integrations using our SDK’s and API’s, attend customer facing meeting as the Technical SME for the product and ensure that the client facing libraries and documentation are simple and easy to implement.
A really important part of the role is the continuous improvement of the integration process to make this the world’s easiest. You’ll ensure that ticketing systems reflects the current state of customer engagement, work in an agile team to ensure issues delivered effectively into future sprints, and work with Product Owners on customer feedback.
What will make you the ideal candidate?
You will have 2nd line support and multi-platform experience, ideally Java troubleshooting. You’ll have experience with Linux, JSON objects, REST principles and API design concepts, and how to integrate services with front and back end applications. You’ll have client facing technical support experience and the ability to support both developers and business owners as they integrate our service with their platform. You’ll be able to articulate customer feedback into Product, Engineering and Content teams, and ideally have experience of implementing Payment Service Providers. Familiarity working in a product led agile delivery environment is also advantageous.
