Legal Counsel - Commercial
Why is our Legal Counsel role right for you?
Considering that first move out of private practice to in-house? Perhaps you are looking to build on your commercial experience? Are you able to blend excellence within commercial contract negotiation and drafting skills with providing direct insight and advice to stakeholders? The FinTech industry is rapidly evolving, fast moving and innovation driven. This role provides the opportunity to join the Payments industry and develop deep sector knowledge whilst delivering true business partnering from a legal perspective.
What will I be doing on a day to day basis?
You will work as part of a high quality legal team providing legal and commercial support across a growing and developing business. Engaging with Business Development Managers and Relationship Managers you will directly support the sales process (predominantly with large multinational Corporates) helping to structure deals along with drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. You will implement new policies, educate colleagues on legal matters and engage with our external counsel. You will also support colleagues involved with Partnership arrangements, investigate / resolve disputes and act as an advisor around all legal aspects of the business’ mechanics.
What will make me right for the role?
You will be a fully qualified lawyer ideally with 1-3 years post qualification experience (gained either within private practice or in-house). You will be an experienced negotiator having drafted a wide range of commercial arrangements. Whilst the role is largely UK based, experience working internationally on cross boarder arrangements would be a significant benefit. Confident communication skills are essential as are influencing and persuading abilities.
